VORTEX STREETS ON ORIENTABLE SURFACES

We present a dynamics of a set of point vortices on orientable surfaces and investigate the relationship between the streets of single core-rotating row of point vortices and counter-rotating rows of point vortices on a plane surface, as well as on a spherical surface, it was found that itconsist of one or more periodic rows of identical point vortices on each of the surfaces considered. The symmetrical double row and staggered double row was discussed briefly. Finally a conclusion was made by observation, that the same vortex streets on a plane can be transported to the surface of a sphere.
